Then he would go off to start building the walls.

With only a few exceptions, you can’t really do anything major to your home without the proper tools. Some of the most expensive home improvements are labor-intensive which means you’ll need to hire a professional to do it. Some are DIY (do-it-yourself) which means you’ll need to invest in a toolbox.
So, why do we need to hire a pro? Because if you have kids then they are going to need to clean up after themselves. Kids are messy. Not that they are in your house, of course, but that doesn’t mean that they have to be. The more we can minimize our own messes, the less likely we are to get into big problems with our kids. That’s why we need to hire a professional to help us with some of the bigger tasks.
The other reason why we need to hire a pro is to prevent the kids from getting into big problems with each other. I know, you cant be too vigilant when it comes to your kids. They will probably be cleaning up after themselves. But that doesnt mean that theyre not a handful to have around. I have seen parents who allow their kids to drink alcohol too much, and then they can be the ones involved in a fight or accident. It happens.
And then there’s the other problem, which is that when you are working on the house, you don’t get to be the one doing it. We are trying to avoid a lot of these situations by hiring a professional to help us out.
We have a lot of experience with this, but we cant stress enough how important it can be. If you have kids, the last thing you want to do is be responsible for them all day. So we have a few rules for them. One, no smoking. Two, no drugs. And three, no video games. These are just a few guidelines we have tried to stick to. But the reality is, this isnt really about just one or two rules.
