The ceiling in this bathroom is slanted, meaning that the bathroom wall is higher than the floor. This is a fairly common problem in new homes, and I’ve seen it in my own home. The walls need to be raised so that the drywall is touching the floor, and the ceiling needs to be slanted to allow for adequate airflow and airflow control.
The slant ceiling in the bathroom above my own kitchen is a good example of this. The slanted ceiling gives the bedroom a more open feel, which is a good thing, but the bathroom has too much of a ceiling that makes it look like the ceiling is rising up off the floor, and not the floor.

The good news is that you can get a good idea of how to solve this problem by looking at the floor and ceiling for the whole bathroom. One of the first things you should do is take a reading of the floor to see how high it is. If it’s high enough, you can then go ahead and mark the floor with tape, and that will prevent the ceiling from tilting up.
Floorboards are made to a certain level of slope, and it’s the floor that must slope up. The problem is the bathroom floor. It’s slanted but the floor is not.
It seems a lot of home remodeling experts will only work with one of these two options. If you want a slanted ceiling, you can do this by using a piece of plywood or some other material that slopes up but doesn’t go all the way down. If you want a ceiling with a floor that goes all the way down, you won’t have enough room for the floor to tilt.
There is also the question of how to install the top. If you are using a standard bathroom ceiling, the top is very easy to install. The only problem is that the top will be flush with the wall. So, if you want your new bathroom ceiling to be flush the whole time, you will need to cut a hole in the wall. The good news is that if you do this you will have a nice tall ceiling with a nice smooth (and not slanted) surface. The bad news is that you will have to cut the top off, and the rest is a whole other story.
