The thing that makes the process so much more difficult is that you need to be comfortable with the thought of the potential repercussions of your decisions and actions. Because there are so many variables, a builder needs to be able to walk around the home and not think about the layout or the furniture or the fixtures that they might be working with during the build. The first thing you should do is write down each step in your build as you go. Also write down your own feelings and fears about the build.
