If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you probably know that I have a passion for home remodeling. Whether it’s a new kitchen, bathroom, or closet, I will always make it my goal to give you a creative home remodeling solution that you can truly fall in love with.
But like most things, once you have one, you can’t stop. I’m an entrepreneur. I’m a designer. I’m a builder. I’m a remodeler. I’m a designer, remodeler, and even manufacturer. One thing I am not is a remodeler. There is something to be said about making a small renovation that can be your own personal little business.
One of the best things about remodeling is the ability to build a new whole that you can share with friends and family. This means that you can actually get to see how other people do things differently. So when you remodel, it’s not just about decorating. It’s also about how you interact with your home. I know this because I have a great deal of experience with what it means to interact with your home.
I was lucky enough to see someone else in the neighborhood take on a small home renovation project that was just him and his wife. In his words, the project was pretty exciting because they were going to do everything themselves. And in a sense that is true. But in fact, when you go into a home and see the amount of work that has been done, you realize that the labor has to go into the quality of the finished product.
I have to agree with this. The first time I took a look at a new house I was really impressed. It was my first time building a house and I was stunned by how much work was involved. After that, I was sure I wanted to do it again, and I still do.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to see all the work that was done at this house. There’s a lot going on in construction that the average person doesn’t see or appreciate. We really do need to make sure that the work we put into a home is high quality and high value. You can’t be making all this money without making sure that your home is worth it.
I think this is a general problem on the whole. People who are just starting out in life, usually do not have the knowledge or experience with their homes that people who have spent their entire lives in that home. So when we think about remodeling, we usually think of a lot of work and effort and cost.
I think it’s important to remember that it is not something that we should be doing to make a point. The work we do on a home should be for the home itself. It shouldn’t be about what we like or dislike, or how we like or dislike that particular room. There are dozens of factors that come into play when we make any changes, but the work we do should be to make the home better and more enjoyable to live in.
Here’s an easy way to say “no” when you’re considering remodeling your home: Don’t.
