As the old saying goes, “You can’t fix what you don’t measure.” The most important dimension to look at when it comes to basements is how high they are. Most people get stuck in basements where the ceiling is higher than the basement floor. For me, I have to dig deep and go down so deep it doesn’t even feel like I’ve climbed out.
I love the old saying that goes, You cant fix what you dont measure. For the most part basements should be the same height as the first level of your home. But I also find that basements in the south corner of my house get the least amount of traffic. For me, that’s because the only thing that makes me stop and think is the sound of my own thoughts.
You see, my basement is currently an absolute hell hole. The floor is constantly being bashed into the basement foundation, and the walls are all in a state of disrepair. The only thing to do is work on the floor, replace all the linoleum, clean the walls, and then redo the ceiling. But that’s a pain in the butt because that means replacing the ceiling. But what I really want to do is just tear up the floor.
You’re probably thinking, “what would be the point in tearing up the floor unless you’re going to put a new floor in the basement?” The answer is because you are going to have to install a new floor in the basement. It’s just not that important. But there are some serious implications that it holds for how our home looks.
Floor replacement is pretty straightforward and cost effective. Its just another step in the process of tearing down your house and putting a new floor in. But this floor replacement is also a huge step forward in the development of the house. It marks the beginning of a whole new line of floor tiles, which are then used in other floors and other rooms throughout the home. When we replace the floor in the basement, it means that all our carpet tiles and flooring in the house are now complete.
The basement remodel is also a major step forward in the development of the house, because it begins the process of moving away from a 2×4-foot-square, two-by-four-foot, full-length hallway. Where once the hallway was used to house the utilities and other such things, it has now been turned into a great room of sorts, where the basement kitchen table, desk, and cabinets are all laid out.
Again, this is a great step forward in the house because it means that we are no longer limited to having one hallway for all the rooms of the house. The basement remodel also means that the house begins to look as well as it does today. The walls have been cleaned out, as has the concrete floor, and the ceilings have been lowered. Our basement remodel is also a good example of how much the house has improved over time.
I know that the basement remodel takes up a lot of space, but the fact that it’s free is a huge plus. Not only do we have a new space for the dining room table, but we now have a larger space for all of our furniture (with the exception of the kitchen table). The basement remodel also means that we now have a space in which we can put our clothes, our kitchen chairs, and our beds.
Yes, the basement remodel is a huge improvement, but there are other features that we have found since the remodel. We have a new space for our living room window seats. We also now have an area in the kitchen to store our clothes. We have a new space for our clothes, but we have to pay to store it. We have a new space for our kitchen table, but we have to pay for a new table.
All of these changes are very nice to have, but we’re not sure how they will affect our daily lives. Some of the other improvements we’ve made include an updated bathroom and a new home office. The improvement of our kitchen and bathroom only means we now have to pay for them, but this is a very small price to pay for the improvement of our home.
