It is true, the American Home Remodeling business is booming. The number of Americans who are remodeling their homes has increased more than any other industry.
In fact, the numbers of Americans who are remodeling their homes have increased more than any other industry as of 2009, and the growth of the remodeling industry is expected to continue into the next decade. As recently as 2006, remodeling was a small part of the home improvement industry, with remodeling contractors spending 10 percent of their time on home improvement projects. Today, remodeling is the most popular home improvement practice, with contractors spending 50 percent of their time remodeling their homes.
This is important to understand because if you’re not remodeling, you can’t possibly be doing that well. There are lots of reasons why homeowners remodel their homes, but the one that stands out the most is the trend toward more “organic” design. Organic design has come to mean more sustainable, sustainable design, not only because it’s less expensive, but because the products used in the process are often less costly to purchase.
This is why I love when people say that they are “going green”. We are so busy worrying about every little thing that we forget about the important things in our lives. When I think about my work, I always think about the people I am helping.
So today I am in a place of “greenness”. I decided to take a week off of work and go to the house of a friend I haven’t seen in nearly three years. Of course, I had to do it with new eyes.
The people I worked with were very helpful to me. They took a look at the house and made suggestions. They even gave me a couple of ideas and sent me some files (many of which I already had on my computer). They also showed me some of the pictures I posted over the last year. They let me take a look at some of the remodeling projects they are tackling. I have been to these houses and have seen all the work the people do to make their homes look amazing.
It’s not just because they are awesome remodelers. Because they are so well trained, American homeowners are able to take a look at their homes at a distance and then make suggestions to them on how to improve them. It’s because of the experience, the knowledge, and the years of training that these remodelers have to bring to the task at hand. I know this because I have been to these houses.
Now, a lot of us have been to houses where we thought we had “done it right.” For example, I have never seen an interior that I wanted to change. I’ve seen some of their “beautiful” interiors, but not so much. But, there are people from the same state that have. Why? Because they care about their homes, and they care about making them look good.
When I lived in the USA I saw a number of people who were working with their hands and all kinds of other stuff to make their homes look good. Most of us have a very different type of decorum. We think we know how to decorate a home. But, when you get there, you can’t just walk in and start decorating. Your first step should be to put away pictures of what you used on the previous house.
I know what you’re saying, but I’m not a minimalist. I am a minimalist who spends tons and tons of money on custom cabinets and custom cabinets with shelves. My cabinets are custom. I know exactly what I need. And I know exactly what I want. So my cabinets are custom and I know exactly what I want.
