In America, we don’t usually advertise ourselves as home contractors because we don’t want to scare people away. Instead, we are more often called “home remodelers.” But there is a difference and so far we’ve been able to walk a fine line between the two.
The difference between a ‘home remodeling company’ and a ‘home remodeler’ is that a home remodeling company is a company that works for homeowners, a home remodeler is a person that works for a building company. When we refer to ‘our company’ our clients, it usually means we are a home remodeler – just not all the time.
A home remodeling company is a company that renovates homes under the pretense of making them more comfortable for the homeowner. A home remodeler is someone who takes the work of the company and re-sells it to other home owners. I dont know about you, but I am a home remodeler all the time.
There are two types of homeowners who want to remodel their house. Mainly, there are homeowners who want to remodel their house, or remodeling companies who work for homeowners. We are both homeowners and remodelers. We are the company that remodels homes and sells the house to other homeowners.
It is my job to remodel homes and sell them to other homeowners. The company is responsible for the homes we sell. It is very important to me that we are profitable and grow and that we are successful. It is very important to me that we do things right, and do things well.
That is why I am a contractor. I am a homeowner and remodeler, and the company that I work for is a remodeling company. I am the one who sells houses to homeowners. I am the one who takes the house to another home buyer and does the work necessary to make the house sell.
One of the hardest things about remodeling is dealing with the homeowner’s insurance policy. Like most homeowners insurance policies, the homeowners coverage is very limited when it comes to how much they will pay a remodeler for a complete remodel. Most homeowners are very nervous, I know I am for a lot of reasons. Part of the reason is that we are the most “customer facing” of our business.
When we make a home we are dealing with both the homeowner and a loan. The homeowner has a lot of questions about the remodel, wants to take a look at the work, and wants to understand the costs of the remodel. The loan officer is not a homeowner, and does not have the same concerns. They just want to know that their loan is good, and that they will pay back all the money they borrowed.
If you’re a contractor, you have the best of both. You can make a home as good as your customers want as long as you’re prepared to be there at the project, be the first to arrive, and not be there to answer questions. In fact, I can’t think of a single other business that I have met that is more customer friendly than we are.
