This is a beautiful piece of artwork by artist John K. Smith that we featured in our last post. John was a friend of ours and had a heart to match; to us, John was a true gentleman and a great neighbor. He and his wife have been buried in the west Cobb area of Cobb County, Georgia for the last 45 years.
This was a beautiful and moving tribute to them. They will be missed.
We have a feeling this is a very real tribute this time. The Cobb area was a key part of the Black River communities and the community of Cobb was once known as “The City of Roses” for the beautiful red clay soil that was grown there.
A quick search on Google has found nothing of value in the white metal industry. In fact, the most common type of metal found in the world today in Georgia is the metallic clay. If you’re looking for the black-and-white metal of the past, you know that this metal is pretty cool.
But west cobb funeral home, an area that was once home to some of the most famous black-and-white-metal bands in the country, is now a pretty terrible place to raise a family. The building is now owned by a rather large corporation that has made it their home base. The building is in poor shape and the grounds are mostly overgrown.
It’s a little sad because there used to be a great legacy to the metal music in west cobb. But now? Not so much. The building is owned by a huge company who have made it their home base. And now the grounds are overgrown.
This isn’t the first time that a funeral home has been put up for sale. It has happened in the past and was always very sad. But it is the first time that it has been put up for sale with all the money being spent on renovations. This is going to be a very sad day for many families who were lucky enough to have an old, well run west cobb funeral home that could hold their loved ones in its funeral parlor.
This is the first time that I remember seeing a funeral home that was not a funeral home. The first time I saw this was near the time of my parents’ death. The place was so big that I forgot to open the front door and see the body.
As I recall, the funeral home was built in the 1930’s. It’s been closed for the last few years, but it is still very much in good shape, so I’m sure that the funeral families will be pleased when they find out that their loved one is now in the ground.
I could imagine that the funeral home is a very beautiful construction to be sure, but the reality is that it was probably built in the 1930s. It’s also possible that it was built as a “temple,” which is a very common funeral home design. It has a very different feel from a typical church. The place may have been a little too big for the funeral family, but the structure is still very much in good shape.
