I am not aware of a better way to describe shims. I am a big fan of shims because they hold up just about anything. They are cheap, they are easy to install, and you can replace them as needed if they need replacing. I get the call at least once a week from home improvement people about a particular shim that may be causing issues in my home. They come over and I stand there with a big smile on my face.
I have been told by one good friend that “shims” are an excellent way to save a ton of money. I have also heard that shims are cheap because they are made by cheap, unskilled labor. However, I don’t know of a way to save money by buying shims.
I think you’ll find that shims are cheap because they are made by unskilled labor. I have heard similar claims from both home improvement companies and home improvement stores. I am not sure where I have heard this, so I don’t know if it’s true. There are several different ways that DIY home improvement stores can charge you for shims, but I have not seen any of these that I would definitely trust.
If DIY stores are offering shims, then it is probably because the store has a “no-hassle” policy for shims. That way, you can save money and still get a quality product.
While I don’t know the specifics about shims, I know that DIY stores that offer shims are probably getting some money from the customer to do this.
The same is true on the home improvement store front, but it can be more complicated. A DIY store can charge for shims in many different ways. The “free gift” part of DIY stores is a common one, where the customer can pick several shims out and pay for the cost of the shims. The shims come in a box, which usually has a $6 price tag. There are other types.
In the last couple years I have seen a rise in DIY stores that offer shims as an add-on. Most of these shops are charging a fee for the shim that the customer picks out. In some cases, it is an additional cost that the customer has to pay, but that is more of a way to save money. In other cases, it is a way to save the customer extra money.
Some people are just cheap. They don’t want to spend a little bit more money on a shim to make them look better, thus they go to the DIY store and try to trick the customer into buying the shim. I have not seen this happen with shims. If you want to save money, then look for a DIY store that doesn’t charge you extra.
There are DIY stores that do charge extra. You can get a cheaper shim from a store like Shims. If you want to get really cheap, then save up some money and buy a cheap DIY shim. You can also always get a DIY shim from a DIY store like Home Depot.
Home Depot is owned by the same people that own Walmart. Walmart is run by a guy that works for Walmart. Home Depot is run by the same people that run Walmart. So I could have been wrong to say that Home Depot is owned by the same people that own Walmart.
