remodeling is a great challenge, especially if you don’t have a lot of experience or a lot of money, and it’s exciting. I have had the opportunity to remodel a lot of homes (and my own house) and I have learned a lot along the way.
I am glad to see some people actually start remodeling their homes, because what is it really gonna take? A few months? A few thousand dollars.
I am a believer in remodeling because it is an opportunity to do your own thing. I have read some of the great things you say about remodeling a house, like “you dont have to spend the money on a contractor to do it right.” In my opinion, a remodel is a lot more than you expect, and you have to be willing to be flexible and take risks. I think you can really enjoy a remodel if you set some boundaries.
I think this is a great way to say that it is sometimes better to get it wrong. I have been remodeling my home for over a year now, and it has been a real eye-opener. In the beginning it was just a lot of work for me because I had to work with the home inspector to make sure the house is fit for habitation. And then after a while, I realized that the inspector was just as bad as I was.
The inspector was a real tool. He was so aggressive, he would say things that sounded like it was a crime scene. He would tell me to get rid of the kitchen cabinets, he would say the basement was too dark, etc. He was wrong all the time and he really got me thinking about the home I had built. I realized that I really didn’t want to be the kind of person who would just remodel the way the inspector wanted because it would make me look bad.
What many people don’t realize is that remodeling is really a lot like painting a house. When you paint a house, you don’t just paint the walls. You paint the ceiling, the roof, and the floors. You get the entire interior painted. The same is true with remodeling. The interior of a house can be painted, but the exterior can’t. When you paint your home, you are just painting the exterior.
What I’m getting at here is that remodeling is the same way paint works. The interior of your home can be painted, but the exterior cannot, which means you can be a little more creative with your interior’s look, but you cannot paint the exterior.
It is true that painting a house gives the exterior a chance to breathe. However, painting the exterior cant make it more functional and beautiful. The exterior of your home can be made into something beautiful, but that’s not the same thing as painting the interior. If you paint a house, you are just painting the house.
As many of you may know, the outside of your home will be covered with paint. This is because paint can be toxic. So if you paint the outside of your home, you are just painting the house. However, if you paint the exterior of your home, you are painting the house and the outside.
I like this analogy because it explains what is so hard about painting a home. Because you’re adding the outside to the inside, you’re always trying to make it look better. If you add the outside of your home to the inside, you’re trying to make the outside look better. If you add the outside of your home to the outside, you’re trying to make the outside look better. If you add the outside to the inside, you’re trying to make the outside look better.
