I think that’s such a generic phrase to use for anything, but I must admit that I still find the term home depot, Oxnard, to make me giggle. To me, it’s just an apt description of the way the “neighborhood” affects our lives, regardless of the home we’re “living in.

We are all affected by the neighborhood and the places we live in. But what does that mean? Well, it means that in the eyes of the community and the people around us, we are not just “homes”, but “communities.
That’s why we have neighborhood groups. We need them because they keep us aware of the way the neighborhood affects us. Neighborhood groups are groups of people who get together and organize to make certain things happen. They can look at a particular neighbor differently or work to improve the quality of life.
In the case of home groups, what we mean is that they are groups of people from the same neighborhood who get together and organize to do something. It can be a neighborhood improvement group, a business improvement group, etc. It is usually small enough that most people wouldn’t know about it if they were in it, but the same group can have thousands of members.
The one area where home groups have been a huge success is in helping to raise the quality of life in a neighborhood. As we learn through the trailer, the group has helped to bring new life to a number of abandoned buildings, including a house that was on the market for over a year. As a result of the group’s efforts, the house was sold and the neighborhood is better off.
The group seems to be on the same wavelength as the ‘hoods in that they are willing to spend more money and time on a project than they would like to. It’s a shame that there is a need for a neighborhood like that, though. As we’ve noted many times before, the home is a necessary evil, but if it is not maintained properly, it can become a danger to the rest of the neighborhood.
