ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech men’s and women’s observe and field teams return to competition after a month-long hiatus as they travel to Lexington for the Kentucky Invitational this weekend. The Semicentennial Commemoration Seal was designed by Jerry D. Kelly, Manager of the Publications Bureau of Tech Information Services. The five pentagon blocks every represent a decade, and frame the Lone Star of Texas in the middle. Texas Tech’s colors are black and purple, so in this version of the seal black represented previous many years, while purple represented the current one. According to a 1972 problem of Tech’s student newspaper, the University Daily, the sum of the blocks represented the muse on which the university would build its future. And what turn-of-the-century depiction of baseball would fail to contain a bevy of amazing mustaches?
The Lions responded with a four-goal ultimate body that was answered by simply two objectives from Michigan. Freshman Rosanna Tomiuk scored three objectives and fellow Canadian Christine Robinson added a pair within the win. Sophomore Katie Hicks also added two while junior Stacia Peterson scored one.
