We recommend that you also hire a certified remodeler or a qualified contractor. We use these guys to really make sure that the best, most professional, and most cost-efficient options are chosen for your home. The best way to make sure that a remodeling company you hire will be responsible and ethical is to read their reviews. If a company you hire was once accused of ripping you off, they probably have a lot of other complaints to go along with it.
One of the biggest problems with renovation companies is that their prices are often way higher than what other companies charging a fraction of what they are charging. We hear the same thing here in Salt Lake City: A contractor who promises a house for a fraction of what it will cost will often be cheaper. We tell businesses to be honest with you about what they are charging, and to always ask for a quote of what they charge and what they’re willing to spend for it.
It’s one of the reasons that so many people in Salt Lake City are frustrated with the contractors. A local real estate agent told us that they have had this same problem with them, but with a different company. She said that when she has come to the first house they did to her, they were very aggressive about quoting a price that was way too high. When she asked the contractor about it, she was told by the contractor that he did not have a price that was too high.
While the real estate agent didn’t know of any other companies that have this issue, she said that this is a huge problem for them. They would rather charge the same price for the job and take the same amount of time to complete it. As they are only able to take on a couple houses a month, they have to be able to pick the right amount of time to finish, which is something they don’t have the time to do.
I guess the other thing to consider is what is it going to take to get these guys interested in trying to do this job again. This particular contractor has experience, and there is a lot of buzz about this particular renovation company. The market for renovation companies right now, if you look at the major renovations websites, is pretty tight, so I wonder if they are just being cautious of what the price of the renovation will be.
It would take a lot of work and resources to make sure these guys are interested, but I would guess that they are. And besides, renovations just take a lot longer than buying a house, so I don’t think it’s an issue.
This could be a concern, but I also wonder how much effort it will take for me to be able to take on this kind of project. My own renovation is taking far more time than I expected, but I feel as though I am doing a good job. I mean, I did get the house up the right way, but the house is a complete disaster. My bathroom is a disaster. My kitchen is a disaster.
