I’ve used this little guy for years. It makes great use of the space of a toilet and works wonders to make up for a leaky plunger.

Ive used mine daily for years and use it every time i flush the toilet. I use it to make my toilet work better and to clear any lint and dirt in my toilet.

Its usefulness is limited though, it’s not exactly cheap. $2 is a good deal enough to try it, and I don’t think you can find many other uses for this gadget.

This is one that may be a bit beyond the scope of this article, but can someone give me an idea of how it works? The auger is a plastic tube that’s inserted into a toilet and attached to a pump. The pump pushes a plunger through the tube and into the toilet. A small amount of water is pumped through the tube into the toilet and the plunger is forced back into the toilet bowl.

This is a good way to flush toilets without having to cut the pipe. I like it because it works with any toilet, no matter what brand, and I’m also a huge fan of things that don’t suck. There are a couple of downsides: it’s a bit messy, you have to keep the tube clean, and the pump can be a pain to use.

I used a home depot toilet auger for my last flush at my last house. I was able to stop my flush in time by pushing the plunger and forcing the water through the tube, but there are a couple of issues. First, it takes a bit of practice to get the plunger the perfect distance from the tube. Thats why I use the pump. Second, all the water from the toilet needs to get through the tube.

I haven’t used a home depot toilet auger in awhile (I use a flushing toilet) so I’m not sure if the issues are the same as mine, but I did find it a bit messy with the water getting all over the tube, and that the pump can be a bit of a pain to use.

That pump should last you about two years, if you’re careful. The home depot one is a couple of years older, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Home Depot has a few toilets that require a toilet auger. I use this one, which is a bit more expensive than a flushing toilet, but I like it better when it gets a little clogged. But if you really don’t want to pay extra for a toilet auger, you can always just use the flush. The only real negative is that you don’t get a nice clean flush.

I could just throw this one in the toilet bowl and never notice, but I really like the way it looks.
