There are a number of finishing projects that I get asked about, and this is one of them. Most of the time I am asked which is more difficult, painting or finishing your basement. I’m not one to debate, so I’ll do my best to explain what I think is the most difficult part of the process.
Painting your basement is a lot more involved than painting your home’s interior, but if you want to keep it looking nice and keep the dust down, you can’t beat finishing your basement. You do have to paint your walls, ceiling, and floors as well, so this is a very involved process, not to mention all of the other tasks that go with it.
I think the biggest mistake that Ive seen a person make is painting in the basement. I don’t know where Ive seen it done wrong, but Ive seen a lot of people go to the extreme of painting their basement in just about every color they want. Ive also seen a lot of people paint their basement in the wrong colors, which has happened to me. However, if you dont care about your basement, you can also go the easy route.
Well, that would be my advice. The basement is the most important space in your home, so I dont think it really matters if you paint it white, gray, or blue. It will most likely look different than it does in the room itself, and that’s a good thing.
The reason this is good advice is because, I think, the basement is an important part of your home. Painting a basement in a way that doesn’t match the rest of your home (like a white basement floor) can really make it feel like a second room in your home that you forget is a room all of the time.
So far, in all our research, basement is the part of our homes that have the least amount of interior paint. This is not because we dont love paint, but because there are so many other things that make it so much easier for us to paint the basement than we are. The first thing that comes to mind is the fact that a basement is a space where we store our most valuable possessions while also being a place to store our most valuable possessions.
That’s why it’s so important to make sure that we paint the basement from a healthy, sustainable perspective. That means not going crazy with the colors and the boldness of them, but rather using the same colors we use all over the rest of the house.
For example, if you have a bedroom that you paint the same black as the rest of the house then you’re probably overdoing it a little. Don’t be afraid to go with the norm. For example, the bedroom may be painted the same black as the rest of the house, but you might be able to tone down the black a bit.
Some people are afraid that you will paint your basement the same color as the rest of your house, but you dont need to do that. Just to give you a sense of scale, in the next room your bedroom will definitely be the same color as the rest of the house. In fact, in your basement it will probably be the same color as your own bathroom and kitchen. Thats a good example of how you dont need to do everything the same everywhere.
I have been working on some new additions to my basement for the past two weeks. My wife was very excited to give me some of the finishing touches. I have been having problems with my basement walls peeling off and I wanted to get them as close to the floor as I could. The problem is that my baseboards are very thick and I really dont want to see any of the finish on the walls.
